The Human-centered Intelligent Systems (HIS) Laboratory explores AI-infused, human-centered systems. Research focuses on the intersection of human-computer interaction, mobile computing, and applied machine learning to create intelligent systems that advance human abilities and experiences. The laboratory designs next-generation mobile/edge software platforms to accommodate usable machine intelligence, serving real-life-driven computing workloads in health, wellbeing, family, childcare, aging, and support for underrepresented social groups.
