ANBC (Advanced NanoBioengineering & Confluence Lab)

The Advanced NanoBioengineering & Confluence Lab (ANBC) at Hanyang University focuses on developing innovative nanoplatforms and biomaterials for various biomedical applications. Key research areas include the development of nanoplatforms for complex treatment of inflammatory bowel disease by controlling oxidative stress and DAMP molecule activity, self-breathing biomaterials (Respiratoid) for tissue engineering to optimize oxygen supply and manage CO2/ROS, and adipose tissue-targeting therapeutic platforms for anti-obesity treatments through promoting lipolysis and metabolic regulation. Additional research focuses on controlling diabetes/obesity, including cell therapeutics using bionano convergence technology and its imaging, and oral gene therapy. The lab also works on controlling brain/pancreatic cancer through natural polysaccharide-based oral anticancer drugs and targeted nanomedicine, and develops non-invasive biosensors such as smart contact lenses for diagnosing disease factors in tears using bionano convergence technology.
