This education and research group aims to grow into an internationally competitive and globally recognized education and research institution, pursuing the vision of 'Leaping to a research-focused top-tier graduate school of mathematical sciences' and 'Fostering convergent talents who create innovative value'. Since its establishment, the POSTECH Department of Mathematics Graduate School has adopted the system of advanced foreign university mathematics departments, growing into a research-focused graduate school with globally recognized potential based on a research philosophy that prioritizes qualitative excellence. This education and research group seeks to deepen the fundamentals of pure mathematics through leading research and convergence education, strengthen the foundation of mathematics, create research achievements focused on qualitative excellence, lead the mathematical community as a trendsetter in advanced mathematics, and pioneer new fields through interdisciplinary convergence research. Furthermore, based on its internationalization capabilities, it aims to cultivate international-level scholars who can lead the next generation of academia and contribute to national and social development by applying mathematics, the foundation of core future technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution, to science, industry, and public sectors, thereby expanding the scope of mathematics.
